The digestive system breaks food down into smaller pieces that our body may use.
Food first enters our mouth where it is broken down, it then enters the esophagus,
a tube that takes the food to the stomach where acid and movement break the food
down even more. The next step is the small intestine, here food is broken down
moreso and tiny particles are absorbed into the blood. The next step is the large
intestine, here water is reabsorbed. Finally, the waste leaves the body after it
travels through the rectum and out the trap door.
